WYS

Web Youth Soccer (originally known as WebAYSO; nicknamed WYS) has been in development by Bob Arasmith? since 1997. It started as a referee assignment system and quickly expanded into a complete region management tool for teams, players, coaches, referees and more. Due to the many years of development and use, the code base is very stable and supports tens of thousands of AYSO players every year. Bob? continues to develop and maintain the system as a volunteer in Area 2A of Silicon Valley, California.

Web Youth Soccer handles player registration, payment, assignment to divisions, automatic and manual team formation, team management, division management, region management, game scheduling, and game management including "misconduct". It also handles volunteer registration, job and training class registration, all aspects of coach management, all aspects of referee management including game assignment, and other areas. Support for other region management functions such as division management, calendar, board contact and listing, tournament rosters and many others are also included.

Note: As of 2007, the Volunteer Registration portion WYS is no longer useful. This because NSTC has chosen to stop allowing the upload of volunteer data into eAYSO from third party registration tools. Only player registration is supported as an import option into eAYSO now and only via the eAYSO Offline Application. If the National Office ever chooses to re-allow import of volunteer data, the WYS system can be restored to full functionality and management — thus allowing all regional parents and volunteers to only have one system to learn and interface with.

Note: Although Bob? does ask regions for a small fee for use, this simply goes to help defray the costs of the Oracle license, large computer servers with battery back-up, high speed fiber Internet access (with duplicity), and similar computer machine room requirements that make this a true business-class service. Most of the actual cost and all of the time and effort is donated and volunteered by Bob?.
